The work, scoped to your property.
Start with the whole punch list, not just the squeaky door that finally made you call. A loose handle, damaged drywall, furniture waiting to be assembled, and a gate that no longer closes can all compete for your weekend. Photos and a short description of each item help JR understand what is a small adjustment, what needs replacement parts, and what needs a different trade.
For coastal homes, pay attention to the hardware and wood that spend their lives in damp air. A door that sticks only in wet weather is a different problem from a broken hinge. Describe when the trouble happens, whether it is getting worse, and any repair already attempted. That is more useful than guessing which part needs replacing.
This service is for manageable repairs and upkeep, not a substitute for a California-licensed contractor. Work that requires permits, specialty licensing, or structural changes belongs with the appropriate professional. JR will discuss the limits of the requested job before agreeing to it. Keep the priority items at the top of your list and tell us about parking, pets, stairs, or access restrictions that affect the visit.
Who it's for
Homeowners, landlords, and small businesses that need a trusted local handyman.
Start with the list that matters to you. Tell us which items are urgent, which can wait, and the result you need before the space is ready to use. If there are other people working at the property, share their schedule so the requested visit can be planned around them. You can discuss the details in English or Spanish — hablamos español.
Get the quote conversation started
Quotes are free and no-obligation. Include the town, property type, photos, access details, and preferred timing when you contact JR. We will discuss the requested work and what belongs in the scope rather than assuming every property needs the same list. Standard hours are Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM, with a 24/7 emergency line for urgent requests.
Before the visit, make a note of anything you do not want moved or worked on, and any parts of the property that are off limits. If you are arranging work for someone else, identify who can answer questions about the scope and provide access. A clear list also helps keep optional extras separate from the work you originally requested. If the condition changes or another task comes up, bring it into the conversation rather than assuming it is included. The aim is simple: everyone understands which work is being requested before it begins.
