The work, scoped to your property.
Sometimes a worn piece needs careful attention, not replacement. A cabinet door, solid-wood table, scuffed entry door, or weathered exterior surface may still have plenty of useful life. Start by showing JR the whole piece and close-ups of the wear. Tell us what you want to keep: the original look, a particular finish, or simply a surface that is easier to live with.
Preparation matters more than hiding damage under a new coating. Loose finish, dirt, moisture, and damaged areas need to be understood before sanding, sealing, or touch-up work is chosen. A coastal deck and an indoor cabinet are not the same job. Let us know whether the surface is exposed to fog, sun, rain, or everyday water use, and whether a previous finish has already failed.
Restoration is not always the right answer. A badly deteriorated piece, structural problem, or historically sensitive antique may need replacement or a specialist rather than an ordinary refresh. JR can discuss furniture touch-ups, cabinet and door refreshes, surface repair, sanding, and sealing within the appropriate scope. Share the intended use and your expectations upfront so the conversation is about a practical result, not a promise that every worn item can be made new.
Who it's for
Homeowners, landlords, property managers, and small businesses in Santa Cruz County looking to renew rather than replace.
Start with the list that matters to you. Tell us which items are urgent, which can wait, and the result you need before the space is ready to use. If there are other people working at the property, share their schedule so the requested visit can be planned around them. You can discuss the details in English or Spanish — hablamos español.
Get the quote conversation started
Quotes are free and no-obligation. Include the town, property type, photos, access details, and preferred timing when you contact JR. We will discuss the requested work and what belongs in the scope rather than assuming every property needs the same list. Standard hours are Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM, with a 24/7 emergency line for urgent requests.
Before the visit, make a note of anything you do not want moved or worked on, and any parts of the property that are off limits. If you are arranging work for someone else, identify who can answer questions about the scope and provide access. A clear list also helps keep optional extras separate from the work you originally requested. If the condition changes or another task comes up, bring it into the conversation rather than assuming it is included. The aim is simple: everyone understands which work is being requested before it begins.
